New! Children's
Fund Plan 2006-08
The Children's Fund is a government funded initiative aimed at
providing a flexible approach to meeting the needs of five to
thirteen year olds. The fund aims to develop and maintain links
between all services that work with children and young people.
The work of the Children's Fund forms part of the local preventative
strategy. Children's Fund projects aim to prevent children and
young people experiencing negative outcomes such as being excluded
from schools or becoming involved in crime.
The intended outcomes of the fund are, improved educational performance,
reduction in youth crime and conviction, improvements in health
and social care, move involvement of users in service delivery
and more use of existing services by excluded groups.
In Tameside we cover four main themes delivered by over thirty
different projects
Learning
Health and Happiness
Safety and Well being
Services for All
We also work with children and young people to
encourage their participation in all that we do.
