Learning
The learning theme of The Children's Fund is to ensure that all
children and young people in Tameside are able to take full advantage
of educational opportunities throughout their school life. All
children should be encouraged to attend school and be given the
chance to achieve their full potential.
The broad objectives of this area of work are:
To improve the educational performance of all five to thirteen
year olds.
To reduce truancy rates and promote attendance at school.
The learning theme aims to:
support the needs of particular targeted groups, for example,
traveller children, ethnic minority children and children with
sensory impairments and physical disabilities.
develop best practise and information sharing between projects
across Tameside
